How to find your way and who to trust in this crazy world? Don't fret, I have the essential websites you will need for your time in Bangkok that will keep you well informed and up to date with what's going on and how to get things done.
Information
Cassandra James is a female writer for Yahoo Voices, she has been writing for them since 2007. She offers lots of helpful suggestions on almost everything in a concise writing style. I suspect her writing reflects whatever is happening in her life at that time, recently there has been a lot of bunny themed articles... I'm guessing she has a pet rabbit then. Furthermore there is lots of practical advice on teaching, visas, volunteering and much more. Take a look!
News
The Bangkok Post is a more serious publication which you can compare to The Times or The Guardian. You can purchase the printed version weekly in some 7/11's or more farang centered supermarkets such as Tops. There are style, holiday, money, finance, whats on sections plus many more. Most importantly is the classified part, where you can look for jobs.
Jobs

Ajarn is the most efficiently run and best site for finding teacher jobs in Thailand. All of the schools use Ajarn to find applicants and most teachers uploads their CV's on to here. But this is not just a mere job site, it gives advice about teaching and living in Thailand, there are links to blogs, and real life stories and a forum. All in all a very informative and valuable website to teachers.
JobsDB is the main site for the rest of the jobs in Thailand. this site targets Thai and farangs alike. So it is important to check the speck before you get all excited that you've found the perfect job, because a lot of the jobs are open to 'Thai Citizens only". But there are a range of jobs on there and you can set up alerts and all of that malarkey.
Meeting People
Meetup is such an important site if you are living here and have a full time job. It can be very difficult to meet people in this crazy city where its easy to lose track of time and space. So far I've gone to a teachers meet up, done Tai Chi in Lumpini Park and chatted with lots of the Bangkok Runners. When a meet ups are compatable with my schedule I plan to meet Bangkok Volunteers to do some good stuff, the Language Exchange group for some socialising as they look like a young fun group, Little Bangkok Sangha for a spot of meditation and also Health Fitness Bangkok to help get me into shape and also meet some sporty people! So as you can see there are lots of different activities listed on there and so many more than I've mentioned. So don't restrict your self to a small social circle or stay at home feeling lonely log onto meet up and find out whats happening. What do you think are some of the most important sites? Have I missed any out?
